- • As a licensed private vehicle-for-hire company in Washington, DC, we meet all insurance requirements of § 50-301.29c of the Code of the District of Columbia.
- • Below is a summary of the basic elements of the automobile liability insurance applicable to vehicle-for-hire service in the District of Columbia:
- - In Period 0, where a Via driver partner is logged off of the app, the driver partner's personal insurance policy applies.
- - In Period 1, where a Via driver partner is logged on to the app and available to pick up passengers but has not yet been matched with a rider, Via will provide contingent auto liability insurance (to the extent the driver does not maintain it in these amounts) subject to the following limits: $50k per person per accident, with up to $100k available to all persons per accident, and $25k for property damage per accident.
- - In Periods 2 and 3, where driver partners are en route to a pick-up or have riders in their vehicles, Via will provide primary auto liability insurance up to $1,000,000 per occurrence for accidents.
