What is the ViaPass?

The ViaPass is especially designed for our most loyal commuters and makes Via more affordable than ever. To purchase a ViaPass, just open your app "Menu" and head to the section labeled "ViaPass."
 

     


The ViaPass in NYC

With a ViaPass, you can take unlimited Via rides for a week or a month at any time of day, anywhere below 125th Street in Manhattan and in Williamsburg and Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Members can choose between two unlimited-ride options:

  • 7-day unlimited ViaPass for $69

  • 30-day unlimited ViaPass for $255

Some things to remember:

  • The ViaPass is activated when you take your first ride

  • ViaPass users get 20% off the base price on all airport trips

  • Rides to/from Brooklyn are covered by the ViaPass

  • Just like an unlimited MetroCard, the ViaPass is designed for you - additional passengers are extra. But because you’re a superstar, +1s are just $2 each when you have a valid ViaPass

  • The ViaPass is only valid for rides within NYC. If you’re using Via while in Chicago or DC, you’ll need to buy extra Ride Credit or a local ViaPass

  • Cancellation and No Show fees ($3) apply

Note: As of March 1, 2017, the following terms will apply to any ViaPass (including those purchased or renewed prior to such date):

  • Unlimited rides will be available during Via’s 24/7 hours of operation within Via’s Manhattan zone (Manhattan below 125th St) and within Williamsburg/Greenpoint in Brooklyn.  Rides between Manhattan and Brooklyn will cost an additional $4.95 (+ tolls).

  • Additional passengers (+1s) will cost an additional $3 each.

*Terms & Conditions (in effect until February 28, 2017): The ViaPass price includes NY sales tax and NY Black Car Fund fee. The ViaPass is activated at the time you take your first ride, not at time of purchase. Each individually purchased ViaPass is limited to a single user, account and device (i.e., multiple people cannot share a single ViaPass). A ViaPass holder may book rides for his or her +1's, though additional fees apply. Unlimited rides are available during Via’s 24/7 hours of operation and within Via’s Manhattan zone (Manhattan below 125th St) and Williamsburg in Brooklyn. The ViaPass cannot be combined with other offers or promotions. Charges for additional passengers, and cancellations and no-show fees will apply. Available while supplies last. The ViaPass in Chicago

With a ViaPass, you can take unlimited Via rides for a week or a month anytime during Via Chicago's operating hours. Members can choose between two unlimited-ride options:

  • 7-day unlimited ViaPass for $39

  • 30-day unlimited ViaPass for $139

Some things to remember:

  • The ViaPass is activated when you take your first ride

  • Just like an Unlimited Transit Pass, the ViaPass is designed for you - additional passengers are extra. But because you’re a superstar, +1s are just $1 each when you have a valid ViaPass

  • The ViaPass is only valid for rides within Chicago. If you’re using Via while in another city, you’ll need to buy extra Ride Credit or a local ViaPass

  • Cancellation and No Show fees ($3) apply

  • The ViaPass does not entitle riders to any discount on airport rides

     

NOTE: As of Feb 24, 2017, the following terms will apply to any ViaPass (including those purchased or renewed prior to such date):
 

  • The 7-day ViaPass will cost $49

  • The 30-day ViaPass will cost $159

 

Starting March 27, 2017, additional passengers will ride for $2 each on all trips.

The ViaPass in DC

With a ViaPass, you can take unlimited Via rides for a week, anytime during Via DC's operating hours:

  • 7-day unlimited ViaPass for $20

Some things to remember:

  • The ViaPass is activated when you take your first ride.

  • Just like a SmarTrip Card, the ViaPass is designed for you - additional passengers are extra. But because you’re a superstar, +1s are just $1 each when you have a valid ViaPass.

  • The ViaPass is only valid for rides within DC. If you’re using Via while in another city, you’ll need to buy extra Ride Credit or a local ViaPass

  • Cancellation and No Show fees ($2) apply

Reminder:  Your ViaPass will auto-renew by default. Once you've purchased a pass, you can adjust this by heading to "Menu" - "ViaPass" and clicking the small blue arrow at the bottom of the screen that says “Auto renew is activated.” You can then turn auto-renew on or off for the ViaPass.
